Avengers: Infinity War is turning out to be a hugely profitable adventure for Disney. Marvel Studio's biggest superhero film "Avengers: Infinity War" has become 2018's highest Hollywood earner in India till date with its gross box office collections of Rs 120.09 crore.
The film, which brings together the largest gathering of superheroes to battle it out against supervillain Thanos, has already beaten record of The Jungle Book. You see, Mowgli’s adventure was adored by everyone in India and the movie managed to rake in Rs 40.47 crore in three days. On the other hand, the opening weekend numbers are a testament to 'Avengers: Infinity War' creating a cinematic milestone.
In just two days, the movie has managed to get Rs 61.8 crore in India. We did expect AIW to break records but to clock in the numbers in much less time was surprising. The success goes to show the ever increasing fan base and the pop culture phenomena that Marvel as a brand enjoys in India," Bikram Duggal- Head of Studio Entertainment, Disney India, said in a statement.
"Avengers: Infinity War" stars Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Mackie, Paul Bettany, Elizabeth Olsen, Chadwick Boseman, Sebastian Stan, Don Cheadle, Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana, Pom Klementieff, Benedict Cumberbatch, Benedict Wong, Tom Holland, among others. Also, the superhero movie has beaten Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Shahid Kapoor starrer Padmaavat – which was the highest day 2 collector of 2018 with Rs 56 crore.
