Sanjay Dutt-Sajid Nadiadwala to reunite after 23 years for 'Kalank'

'Kalank', Karan Johar's upcoming project is in the news ever since its announcement was made. The film has also created a buzz among the audience for its impressive star cast consisting of Madhuri Dixit, Sonakshi Sinha, Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Aditya Roy Kapur, and Sanjay Dutt in lead roles. But that’s not all. With this Abhishek Varman directorial, Sanjay and filmmaker Sajid Nadiadwala, too, have come on board on a project after 23 years. Varun and Alia have already started shooting for the film.

The film is one of the most anticipated films in the upcoming years. It was in 1995 that Sajid had produced a film titled Andolan starring Sanjay, Govinda and Mamta Kulkarni. The action film was a tale of two brothers and the different paths they choose in life. With a solid track record of blockbuster entertainers behind him, Sajid definitely understands the pulse of the masses.

According to sources, “Sajid and Sanjay share a warm bond. They have been keen to explore creative opportunities to collaborate. Kalank proved to be the perfect film for them to join hands. While they often meet each other during informal gatherings, the duo will work together after over two decades.”

Set in the 1940s, Kalank is a period drama being produced by Dharma Productions, Fox Star Studios, and Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment. The film started on April 19 and is expected to hit the screens next year, on April 19.
