On Friday, after the deletion of micro-blogging sites, several suspicious and inactive accounts thousands of followers have been lost from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Rahul Gandhi’s account.
According to a scoail media site, Prime Minister Narendra Modi currently has 43.1 million followers with a loss of 284,746 followers whereas the Congress President Rahul Gandhi currently has 7.33 million followers with a loss of 17,503 followers on Twitter after the deletion.
They are not only the polition who have lost the followers but there are many other leaders who have lost the followers such as Minister of External Affairs of India Ms Sushma Swaraj currently have 11.8 million followers with a loss of 74,132 followers and many other names are also there such as Shashi Tharoor Congress leader, Derek O’ Brien Trinamool Congress leader, Smriti Irani Union Textile Minister etc.
As the micro-blogging sites and locked accounts wherein the people have not updated the ownership were removed there is a drop in the followers which can be seen on the Twitter accounts.
By this week, twitter will be removing the locked accounts from follower’s counts globally across the profile which will result in decrease in the count of followers.
