Indian cricket team captain Virat kholi said that Indian team cannot be satisfied by just competing overseas and it should learn the art of pushing the boundaries at the time of pressure situation.
India suffered a 60 runs loss in the fourth test on Sunday after being dismissed for 184 while chasing the target set by England of 245 runs.
“we can easily say that just we were 30-50 runs away, but we have to keep that in mind when we are amidst the game and not after the game. We may have played a good game, but we cannot always say that we have competed”.
Captain Virat kholi was speaking to media after the test match on Sunday.
He feels that his team should be more persistent and fearless in making a better start at the overseas cricket matches.
Indian captain further says “Even when we are in a driving position in a match, we should be able to capitalise on it, try not to let the opposition come in, fight back again and again. We can take a leaf out of that.”
However, Captain kohli believes that his team never gave up and made England earn the victory.
He further elaborates,” Rarely any team comes close to our target when we play at home. It is a huge boost for us that we made the home side time earn the victories”.
Kholi praised off-spiner R Ashwin for his efforts and defended him saying that he tried his best, though he could not get the desired results.
Captain concluded “On flat wickets batsman can get out. So, this was one occasion where Ashwin could himself feel he could have earned some wickets. The batsman played well. There are lots of factors when you look at that situation.”
