Sui-Dhaaga Movie Review: Varun Dhawan, Anushka Sharma are fun to watch

Sui-Dhaaga is one of the most talked about film, in last couple of weeks and it has hit the screens today. The film had caught the attention of the movie fans, ever since its trailer released, because of it’s unique concept that revolves around two things that common man is well aware about and that is “Sui and Dhaaga”. The film stars a fresh pairing of Anushka Sharma and Varun Dhawan, and no doubt that they are looking great on screen. Their chemistry is really sparkling; it can be seen in the trailer as well as their outings for movie promotion.
The film is directed by Sharat Kataria, who is also directed “Dum Laage ke Hasesa” which was a huge hit at the box-office.
Plot:
The story of “Sui-Dhaaga” is of Tailor Maoji (Varun Dhawan) and wife Mamta (Anushka Sharma) who is expert in embroidery work. Mauji works for someone else, who keeps making fun of him and does not take him seriously. One day when Maoji is treated very badly and insulted by his boss, Mamata gets angry. Mamta tells Maoji to stand on own his feet. Both Mamta and Maoji start struggling together in hope of a better future, but nothing changes in their life. Maoji’s father is always cursing him and a mother who is ill.

Review:
Though Sharat Kataria (Director) has tried to show the struggles of small towns and lower middle class families but this time they are not successful in catching things. The story line is very weak in Sarat Takki “Sui-Dhaaga”, and it breaks down at many places. The first half of the film is fine; the second seems to be drawn.

In “Sui- Dhaaga” Varun Dhawan tried to submerge in the role of Maoji but the weak story does not allow him to do justice with the character. Although, his punch timing in great in all the scenes.
Varun Dhawan does not looking convincing as a small town guy. By the way, Varun Dhawan had told that he had learned sewing for three months to enter the 'Sui Dhaaga'’s Maoji role, he has worked hard for the character. Anushka Sharma could not do any miracle with Mamta's character. Anushka does not look like the right choice for such characters. Raghuvir Yadav has a small but funny role in the film.
Connecting youth to the story of “Sui- Dhaaga” is difficult, and its music is not very catchy. The budget of 'Sui Dhaaga' is said to be around 30 Crore, so the budget of the film is not that much. It has also been released at approximately 2200 screens. Varun Dhawan's movies have started crossing 100 crores, which include movies like Judwa-2 and Badrinath ki  Dulhania.
