On Wednesday afternoon, a fire broke out in a high rise Beaumonde Towers in South Mumbai. Bollywood Superstar Deepika Padukone also owns an apartment.
This is the third major fire break out in Mumbai in the past week. The fire was noticed around 2:10 pm on 33rd floor of the tower in a residential complex in Prabhadevi. No one was bruised in the incident and around 90 residents were safely evacuated from the building.
On Twitter, Mumbai police posted, “Our staff and fire brigade is on the spot for assistance. They are trying their best to douse the fire and provide necessary help to people there.”
Many ambulances, 12 fire engines, 8 jumbo water tanks and 2 breathing apparatus were available at the spot. Fire brigade officials faced the difficulty due to wind as they can’t use the water tanker hose pipes to saturate the fire externally.
Deepika has her residence in one floor and office in another floor, at the time of fire break she was not inside the building. Her residence and office both were unaffected by the fire.
Deepika has also tweeted that “I am safe. Thank You everyone. Let us pray for our firefighters who are at site risking their lives...”
